Don't wait for inspiration!
A fellow writer warned others not to wait for inspiration to hit but to sit down and write. I agree although inspiration has kindly knocked on my door a few times. Often we censor our thoughts or ideas before giving them a chance. I urge students and others to let the ideas flow; write down all thoughts, and then go back and see what's a keeper and what's not.
What's neat too about letting ideas out is that often the piece in our heads takes on a life of its own and goes in directions we hadn't thought at the beginning.

Where did the title of my blog originate?
Good question! Basically, my short stories and poems tend to be darker, about the darker parts of our psyche and society. Can you tell I'm a fan of the great Poe?
I hope to share bits and pieces of my works here as well. They are copyright protected, and some are published...others are under consideration...and still others await an audience.
Take care!

Welcome to my blog!
I'd like to share one of my favorite definitions of success. This is allegedly by Emerson:
"To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people, and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
At heart, I'm a Transcendentalist with a strong Native American spirituality, and I hope, if I'm to be judged at all, to be measured by the spirit of this poem and philosophy!
Laugh...Love...Live...Be good to yourself and others!
Peace!
